Mt. Humarap (Tatlong Krus)

The Three Crosses at the peak of the mountain.

Second Mountain of my life: Mt. Humarap (Tatlong Krus) and Matabungka Falls
Paete, Laguna

Elevation: 150+ MASL
Major Jump-Off: Barangay Ilaya Norte, Paete, Laguna
Specs: Minor Climb
Difficulty Level: 1/9
Trail Class: 1

* This whole experience was super un-planned plan (uh-oh sorry for the term haha!), had tantrums a day before just to let this escapade happen. Because I want to travel that time (All Souls Day - Holiday). That's the only reason why I want to push this through. Yeah, that's it. Haha! I would like to thank my friends for joining me. Alexa, Arnold and Jette, you're amazing! =))))

We came from Alabang (South People here!), so we rode a bus to Sta.Cruz, Laguna (fare was P64 - discounted price because we're students hihi ^^). From terminal of Sta.Cruz, we rode a jeepney to Paete/Siniloan (fare was P24 - not discounted, oops, we forgot...)

Actually, we jump off in Pakil, Laguna. Kaka-HA? Bakit? Bakit, Ano Yun? = LUMAGPAS. We rode a jeepney again back to Paete town proper. We roamed around first, had sight seeing with their wonderful artworks. They were so talented! Made us so amazed, amused, and admired their simple life yet full of hidden little treasures made by their hands and of course the "Paet" wherein the town name got its name.

"The town looks like Brazil/Greece!" Alexa stated.
The town still looks like a miniature of a town. Haha! Can you imagine that? Paete, is a very small town in Laguna. Compared to Divisoria (which is famous for tiangge's, wholesale, retail, and etc.), maybe the size of Paete is just 3/4 of the whole chaotic Divisoria. The town was famous for their sculptures or carvings (all kinds: Stone, wood, ice, fruit, etc.) and their paper mache products.

A handicraft shop at Paete town proper, along Quesada street.
Marilyn Monroe as one of their artworks.
St. James the Apostolic Church as one of the oldest church in town.
My super friends with me of course having our lunch at Bengas, Paete Eatery.
After our lunch, we prepared ourselves for our snacks in the summit by buying some bread and water in Julies Bakeshop in the town proper also. That's the only common establishment that we found in Paete. We haven't found Mcdo, nor Jollibee, but the town was still good. =)

We started the trail, although the jump off was a bit crowded because there were houses or maybe I should say, "hovels" along the trail. Though, the trail was good as it is not the muddy type nor even the sandy type of trail. And as you can read above, the trail class was just one 1. =)

A bridge made of bamboo sticks.
The trail nearby the falls.

We're almost near.....
The creepiest part of the trail.
AT LAST! \m/

With alexa at the top of the concrete white stone near the Three Crosses with the amazing collaboration of the clouds. Amazing isn't it?
View from the summit of Mt. Humarap, overseeing the whole town of Paete, Laguna
This is at the summit of the mountain, and actually it looks like Tagaytay wherein there are some cottages to rest on. (Sorry for not having any pictures of the cottages.)
Overall, had so much fun with this new experience! Though the place might not be as full as astonishment than you're about to expect, still, the place was so calm, solemn, peaceful. Are there more enough words to describe how safe you can be in this kind of place?

I can say that, i can go back here and visit this often to have a me-time, reflect, and think for what confuses me. The place is really perfect! The mountain is not high, with the falls perfect for taking some dip, and super peaceful with a spectacular view of the whole town and the Laguna de Bay.

That's all for now. To be continued..... =)
